Promoting the use of ultrasound in patient care
during resuscitation and on the wards
For over a decade, ECHO GUIDED LIFE SUPPORT (EGLS) has been a leader in streamlining and focusing resuscitation procedures. Dr. Maxime Valois and Dr. Jean-François Lanctot, the founders of EGLS, were convinced that ultrasound could clarify undifferentiated shock and guide the treatment of patients in cardiac arrest. They developed the EGLS algorithm to address this need. This innovative, step-by-step approach enables clinicians to efficiently generate high-yield ultrasound images. By identifying specific patterns, clinicians can gain a more comprehensive understanding of their patient’s underlying physiology, thereby enhancing their differential diagnosis and treatment guidance.
The EGLS course provides students with a standardized approach to generating these life-changing ultrasound images. The course offers a multimedia learning experience that enables students to gain not only theoretical knowledge about ultrasound but also the practical skills to master it. This excellent ultrasound course boasts a high instructor-to-student ratio and ample hands-on experience. Most importantly, it offers extensive clinical integration, allowing participants to feel confident using it in real-life, real-patient scenarios, thereby providing an exceptional learning experience.
In 2024, a new iteration of the course was inaugurated to assist clinicians in the care of patients admitted to the ward: the EGLS HOSPITALIST course. While this new course shares some of the ACUTE CARE components taught in the main EGLS algorithm, we have added applications that will help you care for unwell admitted patients.
We can’t wait to see you there!
